The ninth annual Lead King Loop charity races return this Sunday.Race, run or hike the 25K, 12.5K or kids 2.5K courses. What do a footrace through Glenwood Canyon, fall weather and Literacy Outreach have in common? Put them all together on Oct. 6 and you have the Glenwood Canyon Shuffle Race for Literacy.Registration is now open for all ages and levels of participation. The Shuffle is a run/walk 5K or a half marathon. Transportation is provided to both races’ one-way course starting lines. Meander through the canyon at your own pace on a mostly gentle downhill grade to the finish at No Name.This year, race organizers are offering $100 cash prizes to the winner of the half marathon (both male and female). The 45th annual Ruggerfest is being held in Aspen this week. The play commenced on Thursday, with the championship matches being held on Sunday. Approximately 30 teams are expected to compete.Some of the teams competing in the open division include the English team the Willing, the Kansas Jayhawks and past national champions the Glendale Raptors, Denver Barbarians and the Gentlemen of Aspen. Old boys championships will also be held in the over 35s, 45s, and 55s age groups.
