The Sunlight Volunteer Ski Patrol presents the second Defiance Challenge benefit, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Sunlight Mountain Resort.

The “challenge” is for teams of two to ski 40 or more black/double black diamond runs in 10 hours. Teams will ride the lifts and ski as many designated runs as possible, while sticking together.

Cost is $150 per team, or $100 for Sunlight season pass holders, including an event t-shirt and ball cap, dinner and an after party with awards, music and silent auction. Registration is limited to the first 50 teams.

In addition to serving as a fundraiser for the Sunlight Volunteer Ski Patrol, a portion of the proceed with go to the family of Mark Gage, a long-time Loveland ski patroller who lost his life suddenly last August.
