Georgiana Hertzke smacked a hole-in-one at Rifle Creek Golf Course on Wednesday.

Swinging a 6-iron, Hertzke aced the 15th hole. Her shot was witnessed by Suzanne Caldwell, Martha O’Neal and Kim Dehon.

Ranch at Roaring Fork Golf Course had two recent hole-in-ones.

Brad Kent aced the 87-yard fourth hole on June 1. He swung a pitching wedge.

Steve Rieser struck his hole-in-one on the same hole on Thursday, swinging a 9-iron to cover the 87 yards.

The Grizzly Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for the Glenwood Springs Youth Hockey Association, is June 18 at Ironbridge Golf Club.

Glenwood Springs High School’s cheerleading team will be running a mini clinic at the school from 9 a.m.-noon on June 18.

Youngsters in attendance will march in the Strawberry Days Parade on the morning of June 19.

The registration fee is $20 if signed up in advance. Mail payments to: P.O. Box 1031, Glenwood Springs, Colo., 81602. Sign up for $25 at the door. Camp costs include a T-shirt.

The Sunlight Winter Sports Club (SWSC) is looking for volunteers and patrons to support the club’s lemonade stand and paid parking area during the June 18-20 Strawberry Days.

The SWSC members will be stationed in the parking lot at the Community Bank across the street from Sayre Park. Club members are needed to volunteer and sign up for shifts to operate the lemonade stand and paid parking area.

This is a major fundraising event for the club, which welcomes all Strawberry Days visitors to stop by and purchase lemonade, water or other cold beverages.

Visitors looking for the closest parking to Strawberry Days can get it via the SWSC’s limited number of parking spots, available for a fee.

Call Rona Fischer at 379-9452 if you can volunteer and help raise money for the Sunlight Winter Sports Club.

The Strawberry Shortcut returns to the streets of Glenwood Springs on June 20. The annual event, a Strawberry Days weekend staple, features a 10K, 5K and one-mile fun run and begins at 7 a.m.
