Troy Mannon belted a hole-in-one at Rifle Creek Golf Course on March 15. Using a 9-iron, his shot covered 115 yards on the par-3 15th hole. Steve and Eric Jensen witnessed the ace.

The Glenwood Springs Golf Club men’s club will tee its season off on Tuesday, April 5. For more information, call the course clubhouse at 945-7086 or show up on Tuesday.

The Rifle Creek Wednesday Ladies golf league will begin on April 6 at 9 a.m. A breakfast meeting will lead things off, with golf to follow at 10 a.m. All women are welcome to attend.

The 2011 Demons youth basketball camp is slated for June 6-9 for players entering the fourth through ninth grades.

Fourth- through sixth-graders meet from 9-11 a.m. each day and seventh- through ninth-graders meet from noon to 2 p.m.

Camp instruction will emphasize the following: positive team attitude, motivation and goal setting, shooting, passing, ball handling, defensive concepts and total player development.

The cost is $50 and enrollment is limited to 100 campers per session. Early registration is highly recommended as walk-in registration is not guaranteed.

Batter up! Carbondale Recreation is accepting registrations for adult softball for both its co-ed and men’s leagues.

The registration deadline is Friday, May 13. All fees are due at the time of sign-up, which is handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

No spots will be held without full payment and no partial payments will be accepted. The cost for the Monday night co-ed league is $540 and the Tuesday night men’s league is $650. Games begin in June.

Registration is now open for the 2011 Roaring Fork Women’s Triathlon Team at

The 14-week, women-only training program will begin with a question-and-answer orientation evening on Wednesday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Medical Associates lobby (1830 Blake St.).

Official bike, run and heartzone training will begin Wednesday, May 11, from 6-8 a.m. at the Glenwood Springs Community Center, with swim training beginning Saturday, May 14, at the Glenwood Hot Springs pool.

Training ends the first weekend in August with the Tri For the Cure Triathlon in Denver. Registration slots are limited and will be granted on a first-received basis. Limited partial scholarships are available.

Carbondale Recreation is currently accepting registration for coach pitch (7 to 8 years old), youth baseball (boys, 9-15) and youth softball (girls, 8-15).

The cost is $80 and the registration deadline is Friday, April 22. Sign up as soon as possible to ensure your child secures a spot.

Player practice and game schedules will be available online on May 6. Practices will start the week of May 16 and games will begin in June. The tournament will conclude by the third week of July. All contact will be via email.
