This Friday, Jan. 6, is LaFarge Skier Appreciation Day at Sunlight Mountain Resort. Lift tickets will be sold for $15 each and all proceeds will go to support United Way of Garfield County.

Skiers and boarders should also wear their best ’60s costume, as Sunlight will award a prize to the best one. Sunlight opened in 1966, so for its 45th year, it is celebrating the ’60s.

The band Fifty50 will perform at 2 p.m., and will play all afternoon. There will also be a drawing for a new pair of skis, a new snowboard and other items.

Sunlight Mountain Resort has most of its terrain open.

Sunday, Jan. 8, is Teacher and Student Appreciation Day at Sunlight. Re-1 and Re-2 students can get a lift ticket for only $15. Teachers and staff ski for free.
