The Glenwood Springs High School girls tennis program is holding an informational meeting for any girl interested in playing this season on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The meeting, which will be held in the school’s cafeteria, begins at 4 p.m.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America awarded the 2011 Glenwood Springs High School girls soccer team the organization’s high school team academic award certificate for its collective academic performance during the 2010-11 school year.

The team achieved a team grade-point average of 3.9. That figure is the average GPA of all 20 team members over the two-semester period.

The Glenwood Springs Parks and Recreation Department is offering a co-ed futsal (indoor soccer) league this spring. Play is 5-on-5 and games are held in the community center gym. Spots go fast, so get your fees in early. The program is for players 16 years old and up.

Games are held Wednesdays between 6 and 9 p.m. The season runs March 21-May 9. The cost is $300 per team if signed up by March 9. After March 9, the cost is $350.
