Stay fit for your summer competitions with the Winter Indoor Triathlon at the Glenwood Springs Community Center this Saturday.

Participants will race the clock accumulate the most distance. The event will consist of 10 minutes of swimming, 30 minutes of biking and 20 minutes of running. The triathlon will run from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

There will be a team division, as well as men’s and women’s divisions. Prizes will be provided for the top team, top female and top male.

The 13th annual Kenny Cline Memorial Sequoia Glen 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, March 17, at 3 p.m. The race starts and finishes at the base of Mitchell Creek Road in West Glenwood Springs.



The cost to enter is $10, with all proceeds benefiting the Pauline S. Schneegas Wildlife Foundation in Silt, Valley Dog Rescue in Carbondale, Colorado Animal Rescue in Glenwood and the Rifle Animal Shelter. Registration begins at 2 p.m. on race day.

Sequoia Glen is the first of six races in the Colorado River Valley Charity Race Series. Call 945-0979 for more information.

The fourth annual Moab Women’s Workout Weekend will be Friday-Sunday, March 2-4.

The weekend will include road cycling, hiking in the desert, daily yoga, nutritious meals, dinner at a local Moab restaurant and life in balance activities.

Lodging is provided in three-bedroom condos. Roommates are either assigned or you can choose your own.

The staff includes coaches of the Roaring Fork Women’s Triathlon Team, Coyote Shuttle and Seattle-based yoga instructor Terry Brass.

Enrollment is limited and the cost is $299. Cancer survivors may apply for scholarship assistance.

The Glenwood Springs High School baseball program is holding a taco dinner fundraiser at the school on Friday, Feb. 17.

The dinner will take place from 4-7 p.m. and advance tickets are $7 for a two-taco dinner plate. The price goes up to $8 at the door. A one-taco plate will be $7 at the door. Also included are chips, salsa, rice, beans, dessert and a drink.

Anyone interested in buying pre-sale tickets can contact Shannon Derby at 948-8537. All proceeds benefit the Glenwood Springs baseball team.

Colorado River Valley Little League is holding sign-ups for the 2012 season from 6-8 p.m. at Rifle Middle School on Feb. 14-15.

Players will need to have a birth certificate and three proofs of residency. Colorado River Valley Little League is for players from Rifle, New Castle, Silt, Parachute, Meeker and De Beque.

The cost to register is $150. Anyone who needs additional information or who needs help covering the cost of registration can call 625-3394.
