Lauren Murphy sunk a hole-in-one at Ranch at Roaring Fork on Sunday.

Swinging a gap wedge, Murphy covered 98 yards to the cup on the fifth hole.

The Glenwood Springers Track Club will be having a registration meeting at 6 p.m. on May 21 at the Glenwood Springs High School cafeteria. The youth track and field club is for boys and girls 9 to 18 years old. Practice will begin May 29.

The Glenwood Springs Walk MS and 5K Run is May 19 at No Name Rest Area in Glenwood Canyon.

The 5K route runs from No Name on the bike path out 2.5K and then back. The walk is from No Name on the bike path to the Grizzly Creek rest area and then back.

There will be a free shuttle bus from Glenwood Springs High School (Grand Avenue parking lot). Buses leave beginning at 7:15 a.m. and run every 15 minutes until 8:25 a.m. Buses begin departure from No Name at 10:30 a.m. and run until 11:30 a.m. Check-in opens at 7 a.m. The 5K run begins at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m.

The 5K cost is $25. The Walk MS is free.

The event raises money to support the programs, services and research the Colorado-Wyoming Chapter provides to the 88,000 people in Colorado and Wyoming affected by multiple sclerosis.

The 14th annual Glenwood Springs Invitational Tournament will be hold over Memorial Day weekend (May 26-27) at Gates Soccer Park (located at the Colorado Mountain College-Spring Valley campus) and the Glenwood Park soccer field.

Seventy teams will compete for medals in the U10-14 age brackets. An estimated 2,500 soccer fans will flock to Glenwood over the holiday weekend and volunteers and referees are needed. Contact Glenwood Springs Soccer Club at 945-6091 or by email at if interested in helping.

Glenwood Springs Soccer Club will sponsor two camps this summer.

A National Soccer Academy camp will be held June 18-22 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for kids 6 to 16 years old. An Arsenal camp will be held Aug. 6-10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for kids 4 to 14 years old.

Both camps offer half-day and full-day options and will be held at the Glenwood Park soccer field.
