Collin Szewczyk Post IndependentLinden Carlson of Glenwood Springs takes a breather after completing the L'Eroica Grand Junction to Glenwood Springs 102-mile bicycle race on Saturday. "That was no cakewalk, it was tough," Carlson said of the race. "There were some crazy turns.... I think I finished 8th or 9th." In all, 19 cyclists participated in the event. Carbondale's Will Inverso finished third, but actual standing will be determined by a special point-based system, which rewards athletes that make use of older cycles and vintage clothing. Carlson rode a 1977 Raleigh Super Course that incorporated a fixed gear.
