Stacey Marie Gardner

Stacey Marie Gardner passed away on Aug. 7, 2011 at Valley View Hospital after a short and valiant fight with cancer, her family by her side.

Stacey was born Nov. 3, 1960 to William “Harry” and Irene Gardner. She was the youngest of five children. She is survived by her parents and siblings: older sister Terry Cerise, and brothers Bud, Kenny and Paul Gardner.

Stacey spent her life in the Roaring Fork Valley attending Glenwood Schools.

Stacey’s first love was her mule, JoJo and her border collie, Blue. She was more at home in the mountains riding JoJo than she was anywhere on Earth.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Aug. 13, from 1-4 p.m. at the Jolley Ranch on County Road 245 (the Buford/New Castle Road) about a mile north of New Castle. Look for the signs. Her request was for a very informal, joyous gathering of family and friends. Please dress casually and bring your memories to share.

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Stacey’s memory to the PSS Wildlife Rescue, 5945 County Road 346, Silt, CO 81652 (970)876-5676.
