Stand up for the mall
Dear Editor,
Finally, after two years of haggling the trustees, they made up their minds to let the Market Place go ahead with the project.
Now, (wouldn’t you know) the negative people are going to petition for the people to decide on whether or not we will get a shopping mall. Why did the trustees waste their time, (and a lot of it) if they are going to let the ones that do not want a shopping mall take over. Suzanne will have to check the signatures to see if they are legal or illegal, a lot of extra work and expense. The town should not pay this unnecessary expense. When is the town going to take care of the businesses we elected them to? Keep Carbondale small go elsewhere to do your shopping, guess Carbondale doesn’t need the money!
Criswell, you will not get my vote the next town election. I did not vote for Chaplin.
Everyone that is for having a place to shop at home, stand up and be counted. Write the town’s trustees or newspapers, or both. You can bet the opposition will turn out big time to vote. So, come on and let’s do the same only more so. I am for the mall.
Vote, if it comes to that. I’m sure going to.
