Steamboat rolls to lone Western Slope victory

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colorado – Austin Hinder threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns as Steamboat Springs rolled to a 31-7 football win over visiting Windsor in the Class 3A state quarterfinals on Saturday.
The Sailors, seeded fourth in the 16-team playoff bracket, will travel to face No. 1 Pueblo Central in the state semifinals next weekend.
Joe Dover legged out 151 yards and a TD on the ground for Steamboat, which improved to 12-0 after rallying for 31 unanswered points on the No. 5 Wizards.
DELTA, Colorado – Keanu Valdez rumbled for 184 yards and a TD on 24 carries as Pueblo Central dispatched of Delta, 34-7, in the 3A state quarterfinals on Saturday.
Max Lerille added 155 yards on 7-of-13 passing for Pueblo, which improved to 12-0 and will host Steamboat in the semifinals next weekend.
Delta, owner of the ninth playoff seed, finished up its season at 9-3.
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado – Olathe’s bid for a second straight 2A state title came to an end with a 34-31 loss at Kent Denver in Saturday’s state quartefinals.
The Pirates wrapped their season with an 11-1 record.
