Steve Edward Williams

Steve Edward Williams, born Sept. 27, 1962, to Gordon and Laurel Williams, in Leadville, Colorado, passed away at his home on Feb. 15, 2011. Steve grew up in the Western Slope of Colorado, where he enjoyed a wide variety of outdoor activities and became an accomplished nature photographer. He graduated from Basalt High School, Basalt, Colorado and later moved to Atlanta, Georgia. He was a state-certified Master Plumber, active in the local church and a treasured son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. Steve had a passion for all things outdoors including camping, fishing, whitewater rafting, gardening and especially hunting, which he shared with his son. Steve enjoyed spending time along the Line Creek Nature Trail walking his dog.
Steve is survived by his mother, Laurel Williams; sister, Rosalie and Tom Lewin; niece, Ashley Lewin; sister Cindy Williams and Brad Leach; and his wife, Theresa Williams; son, Brian Ray and Marissa Ray; granddaughter, Julia Ray; daughter Erica Osborn and Russel Osborn. Memorial Services were held on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at Cathedral of Christ he King Episcopal Church, Sharpsburg, Georgia.
The family has set up a memorial fund to place a bench in his honor in Atlanta, GA, at Line Creek Nature Trail. Donation can be sent to Laurel Williams, 2906 Sopris Ave., Glenwood Springs, CO. 81601.

The Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge experienced vandalism in the form of significant water damage after a man removed a pipe valve with a fire extinguisher flooding four hallways. The lodge however remains open and operational.
