Steven Arthur Harris

Steven Arthur Harris of Marble died Saturday, April 6, 2002, in an accident in Cedar City, Utah. He was 59.

Mr. Harris was born Jan. 11, 1943, in Hackensack, N.J., to Jerome and Julie Berger Harris.

He studied piano at Juilliard School of Music in New York and graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans. He was an accomplished rock and roll musician.



Mr. Harris loved motorcycling, traveling, music and his children and friends. He had a wonderful smile and a heart of gold, and was always ready to help anyone, anywhere, at any time.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Justin and Haley Harris, sons Luke Harris and Chris Harris, stepson Rob Tomb, and their mother, Debbie Quinn, all of Carbondale; sister Vivian Harris and nephew Kyle Malone of Oakland, Calif.; a dear friend, Izzy Palans, of Marble; Justin’s brother Tex Szymanski and their mother, Nomi Johnson, of Tucson, Ariz.; and other cousins and friends.



A celebration of Mr. Harris’ life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at the Crystal Club Cafe in Redstone.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Mr. Harris’ name has been set up at Alpine Bank in Carbondale for his sons’ college education.
