Steven Wayne Parmenter

Steven Wayne Parmenter of Parachute died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Parachute. He was 20.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Grace Bible Church, 0755 Spencer Parkway in Battlement Mesa, with the Rev. Jeff Niles officiating.

After the service there will be a celebration of life, and everyone is welcome.



Mr. Parmenter was born Dec, 18, 1962, in Grand Junction to Tammie North and Alford Parmenter. He spent his childhood in Colorado.

He worked as a pipelayer in the construction industry.



A very outdoors person, Mr. Parmenter loved hunting, fishing and hiking, and most of all he loved four-wheeling on the 96 Ranch. He was known to his friends and family as “Scuba Steve.”

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Tammie North and Robert Reynolds of Parachute; by his father and stepmother, Alford and Becky Parmenter of Rupert, Idaho; by a sister, Kristina Parmenter of Fort Collins; by grandparents Kathy North, Tom North, and Goldie and Allen Parmenter, all of Meeker; and by many aunts and uncles.

Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
