Stillwater gets letter of default from town of Silt

SILT ” The town of Silt has issued a letter of default to SWD LLC, the developers of Stillwater Ranch.

SWD LLC is developing Stillwater Ranch, and is over 30 days due for $9,228 in unpaid zoning fees, said Janet Steinbach, Silt’s community development director.

A similar situation occurred last September when SWD LLC was late paying fees of about $30,000, said Silt town administrator Rick Aluise.

SWD LLC has not paid the town because of charges they had questions about, said Dennis Carruth, SWD LLC’s president.

Carruth would only say that the questions SWD LLC had were “very simple administrative matters.”

The questions are now resolved, said Carruth, and the money owed will be paid in the next few days.

For now however, Silt town employees are not doing any work for SWD LLC.

The town won’t process any applications or amend any agreements with SWD LLC until the fees are paid, said Steinbach.

Silt and SWD LLC officials seem sure that Stillwater will be developed.

“They have too much money in it for it not to be done,” said Steinbach.

“We are working very hard to make this project move forward,” said Carruth.

Right now SWD LLC is working to obtain a loan. Carruth said he expects to get the loan in May and break ground in June.
