Stillwater, the dormant 1,470-acre golf course community proposed south of Silt, returns to the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission Tuesday, May 21.Developers are asking for changes to their first phase, according to Community Development Director Janet Steinbach. The changes include:-Increasing the number of affordable housing units from the current 75 to 162.-Increasing the single family housing units from 332 to 374.-Increasing by 90 the total number of acres. To make those changes, the developers, SWD LLC, have submitted an amended sketch plan for the Meadowood Village section of the Stillwater PUD.Meadowood Village also includes sites for municipal, fire district and school facilities, a community center and RV park.”We’ve got quite a bit going in that first phase,” Steinbach said. The Silt Board of Trustees approved the annexation and planned unit development for Stillwater in 1996.Steinbach said if the developers don’t receive their final plat approval by Dec. 31, 2002, the number of years they have vested rights for the project drops from 25 to 15 years.”That’s big,” Steinbach said. The original PUD calls for two golf courses, one public and one private, plus 1,198 housing units. One of the principal partners in SWD LLC is Ed Sutton of Evergreen, Colo., according to documents filed at Town Hall.
