CARBONDALE, Colorado Some of the best chefs in the valley team up for the annual Carbondale Chamber of Commerce Taste of Spring, taking place from 5-8 p.m. at the River Valley Ranch Old Thompson Barn (Destination Holdings Real Estate office).The chamber fundraiser offers a sampling of cuisine from local restaurants and caterers, as well as a wine and beer tasting featuring Colorado wines.Food will be provided by Big Mamas Home Cookin, White House Pizza, Smoke Modern BBQ, Peppinos Pizza, ella, Bravo Fine Catering, Aspen Glen Club, Zheng Asian Bistro, Dancing Pickle Catering, Pan & Fork Supper Club, Russets Restaurant, Viccos Rock Creek Grill, Cuvee World Bistro, Desert Sky Creative Catering, The Redstone Inn, and Smiling Moose Deli.Participating wine and beer vendors include Jack Rabbit Hill, Varaison Vineyards, Left Hand Brewery, Flying Dog Brewery, Wine Source, Stone Cottage Cellars, and Guy Drew provided by Elite Brands of Colorado.This years event also includes wine education presentations in the barn by Lance Hanson of Jack Rabbit Hill, Ron West of Varaison Vineyards and Linda Cerf-Graham, wine director at Russets.Alpine Bank will be providing souvenir wine glasses for all attendees. There will also be a silent auction, and Majid Kahhak of Kahhak Fine Art and School will paint live. The family of Rosie Ferrin has worked to clean up and make safe again the old schoolhouse in downtown New Castle. Ferrin died this summer and had owned the building that included classrooms turned into apartments for years.
