Structure fire contained on Mitchell Creek Road in Glenwood Springs

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado – A structure fire was reported around 5:25 p.m. Monday at 0074 Mitchell Creek/County Road 132 in West Glenwood Springs.Fire crews responded to the blaze that was burning a bilevel residential structure with a basement apartment burning. All residents and three animals were safely evacuated.Firefighters quickly contained the fire, according to a press release from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.Glenwood Springs fire and police departments and Garfield County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the fire.Responding resources included one ladder truck, two engines, one ambulance, nine Glenwood Springs fire personnel, three Glenwood Springs Police officers and three Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies.The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
