Students agree on school switches

Letters to the editor

Dear Editor,I am writing to you today in agreement to Mindy Gonzales’ Nov. 11 letter to the editor because like Mindy and many other students, I am tired of playing musical schools. I live in Silt and am currently attending Rifle High School and so far I am content where I am. I believe that while I attend Rifle High School for the rest of my four years, I will be well suited – compared to being forced to go to a school where I truly don’t want to be. I wasn’t asked once where I want to go, and I believe that certain people think it doesn’t matter what the students who are going to actually be affected by it think.I have already had to get used to switching schools more than I should, and I believe that the students who are going to have to go to Coal Ridge should be able to choose if they would rather attend Coal Ridge or stay in Rifle, instead of having someone else make the decision for them. I don’t believe that this transition will do anybody any good, especially the people who it truly effects. This is only one person’s opinion, but I feel as if many students like Mindy and myself feel the same way.Kristen TurcotteSilt
