Stuff the Bus with school supplies

Post Independent/Kara K. PearsonRick Tadus, bus driver for the Re-1 school district, stands in front of donated school supplies Friday in a school bus at Glenwood Springs Mall. Tadus donates supplies each year.

The Roaring Fork School District Transportation Department and the Glenwood Springs Kiwanis are hosting the third annual Stuff the Bus drive to collect new and used school supplies for needy families in the school district.

The community has assisted some 200 families in the past two years that have difficulty purchasing necessary school supplies.

Individuals can donate this year by stuffing the school bus located inside the Glenwood Springs Mall. The bus will stay at the mall until noon Friday, Aug. 26, and then stop at the Aspen side of Wal-Mart from 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, through 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29.
