Summer Reading thanks

Patty Duncan

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Gordon Cooper Library in Carbondale, I would like to thank the Aspen Community Foundation for allocating funds for the summer reading program. As a result of their generosity, we enjoyed another successful program. We had 120 children enroll into the program, and for reading an average of 20 minutes a day, they were awarded various prizes. Every Tuesday for eight weeks, a variety of performances were given at the Town Hall. Children, parents, and teachers have voiced their appreciation and enjoyment at these events. The Colorado theme this summer was “Reading, Rhythm, and Rhyme,” and the various prizes reflected this theme.

Sincerely,

Patty Duncan
