Sunlight celebrates slush and sun with Spring Thing on Saturday
Staff Report
Spring Thing, the last fling of the snow season, is coming Saturday at Sunlight Mountain Resort.
10 a.m.: In a unique, cross-season race, cyclists are invited to rip down the ski slopes in the Downhill Mountain Bike Race. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
11 a.m.: The fastest may not be the prettiest, but both count in the Cardboard Box Derby. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers and for the most creative.
1 p.m.: Show off all that skiing and boarding pizzazz chocked up this winter in the Slopestyle Race. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in the under-14 and over-14 categories.
2 p.m.: Spring Thing means sloppy slush, and what better conditions could you find for the Slush Bump Showoff than on Showdown. Best run of two runs wins.
And watch out for the alternate event, the Big Air Contest.
A live band at the lodge rounds out the fun at Spring Thing.
