Many Sunlight Winter Sports Club athletes had their strongest performances of the season at last weekend’s Age Class Open Slalom competitions at Eldora Mountain Resort.
An 8-year-old J5 in her rookie season, Ally Cornelius was first out of the gate on Saturday. She set the pace for the team with a top-10 finish.
Quinn Kimminau, a J3 skier (13- and 14-year-old age group) skied to his best personal day of racing with two top-10 finishes. Alphonse Fischer also came up with two top-10 finishes.
Devan McSwain and Alexis Naylor dominated the J5 girls competition with three wins for McSwain and one win for Naylor. They were seconds ahead of the field in all four races.
Tyler Dollahan raced to three silvers in the J5 boys division and Cooper Cornelius had a seventh-place finish, a second-place showing and a dominant win in Sunday’s first competition.
