Sunny outlook on war with Iraq

Dear Editor,

I stopped reading the Aspen papers because their liberal viewpoints were nauseating, and now it seems that the liberals are taking over the Post Independent as well.

I was, however, thrilled to read a letter to the Editor by Doug Meyers, who hit the nail on the head. Freedom comes with a price. To not continue to support that freedom makes us very vulnerable indeed.

Making love, not war, sounds so warm and fuzzy in theory. Pacifists come across so righteous and sensible. But in today’s world, people, you will be plowed under! You cannot sit down and make nice-nice with nations that want to destroy us once and for all.

Why can’t you people understand that we are at war with the bin Ladens and Husseins of this world? They hate us and what we stand for!

I, for one, support the Bush administrations’ campaign against Iraq and anyone else who threatens my country! And it is a battle between good and evil. Evil people fly planes full of innocent people into tall buildings with the intent to kill thousands.

Just because nations (like Germany) and other so-called allies and liberals don’t have the balls to stand up for freedom does not mean that the rest of us have to curl up and play dead.

When this war lands in your own personal laps, I hope your candle-light vigils will be a comfort to you.
