Take your best shot: Day in the Life is August 29

The Day in the Life of Garfield County shoot day is coming up on Saturday, Aug. 29.

This popular photography section is not a contest but rather an opportunity for everyone to shoot photos and see them in print.

We want people to get out in Garfield County on Saturday, Aug. 29, and shoot all kinds of photos during all times of the day and night.

The goal is to capture the entire day in Garfield County on this day.

In the past, we have had hundreds of photographs submitted by more than 70 photographers.

We ask photographers to send in their three best photos from this Saturday. Please do not send in more than three. We will not go through multiple photos to pick out your three best – that’s up to you. Photographers who send in more than three photos will not be considered for the section.

This year, there will be an online contest for the cover photo. Photographers must take the photo on Aug. 29, then upload it onto the Post Independent website any time from Aug. 29 to Sept. 4. Voting on the best cover shot will begin Sept. 4. People who upload photos for the contest must also send high resolution photos and caption information to photos@postindependent.com.

The Post Independent does reserve the right to choose a different photo if we feel it works better for the cover.

With all your photos, include who took the photo and photo caption information: where and what time the photo was taken. When people are in the photo, please try and include IDs of the people.

The deadline for photos to arrive at the Post Independent is Thursday, Sept. 10. Photos can be sent via e-mail to photos@postindependent.com; by mail to 2014 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601; or dropped off to the office at 2014 Grand Ave. or the Rifle Citizen Telegram office at 125 W. Fourth St., Suite 206.

Remember, photos must be take on Saturday, Aug. 29. And have fun.

The section will be inserted into the Post Independent in late September.
