RIFLE, Colorado – Ex-Rifle Bear Loren Forney had a fine time at her old course on Tuesday, winning the Rifle Invitational girls golf tournament.

Returning to her old Rifle Creek Golf Course stomping grounds for a day, the Grand Junction Central senior shot a 74 to win the invite.

Forney spent her freshman and sophomore years at Rifle High School.

Central won the team title as well, placing a slot above Fruita Monument.

Host Rifle, led by a 93 from Taylor Walters, finished third in the team standings. Walters finished fourth among individuals, tailing second-place Jessica Sinner from Fruita (88) and third-place Brittney Hoppe from Central (92).

Ten teams attended Tuesday’s tournament.
