Tennis Demons take five of seven matches against Vail Mountain
Glenwood Springs’ girls tennis team took five out of seven matches for a team win at Vail Mountain School on Thursday.
Brandi Vinger picked up a victory at No. 2 singles for the Demons, holding off Thea Knobel in straight sets, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
Glenwood won all four doubles matches.
Tess Libby and Elise Metzger picked up a win at No. 1, defeating Nicole Byrne and Erica Charles, 6-1, 6-2.
Sadie Dickinson and Tessa Ebert were triumphant at No. 2, taking down Kendall Deighan and Elle Egizii, 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 3, Erin Bronte and Erin Fangman teamed up to beat Bianca Reimers and Anne McMurrain, 2-6, 6-2, 11-9. Bronte and Fangman were down 9-2 in the tiebreak, charging all the way back to win it.
At No. 4, Morley Perrin and Flora Fischbacher defeated Anne Skelton and Lizzy Pancratz, 6-3, 6-3.
