Test immigrants for infectious diseases

Eloise Ilgen

Dear Editor,

I understand some immigrants have tuberculosis. We must establish a procedure to assure all immigrants are tested as soon as they arrive, for health problems, especially infectious diseases; the infected ones to be isolated immediately!

Our immigration policies are too fragmented: It is imperative that staging areas be set up to guard everyone’s safety, possibly on abandoned military bases where we can “get a handle” on the many problems we have with immigration.

If persons coming here have serious health problems we will have to build more hospitals that provide the best of care; paid for, at least in part, by their home countries. ASAP.
