Thanks for cleaning up Four Mile Road

Dear Editor,

Last Saturday, I saw something that prompted me to write my first letter to the editor. As a Sunlight Mountain Resort employee, getting the opportunity to drive down Four Mile Road in the middle of a Saturday is rare during ski season. However, I needed to make a trip “into town” and saw some great things.

We’re starting to see the bears, and even a couple of turkeys on the roads. What I’d like to tell you about are the people.

In my 15-minute drive down the mountain, I saw several different families with young children walking along the road enjoying the warm weather and sunshine. What makes them special is that two of these groups carried trash bags with them, and mothers and sons and fathers were picking up trash on the road.

I would like to extend a tremendous thank-you to these families, not only for helping to clean up our area, but also for teaching your children the importance of doing the same. Maybe we all need to follow your lead and go for a walk in the sunshine.
