Thanks for playing it safe on Fourth

Dear Editor:

The Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale and Snowmass fire districts and the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office wish to extend to the citizens and visitors of the upper Roaring Fork and Crystal River valleys a sincere thank you for contributing to a very safe Fourth of July holiday. Fire and fireworks hazard calls to fire protection districts and law enforcement agencies were few and minor in nature. The extreme fire danger ratings exist throughout the summer and we are gratified by the community’s commitment to fire awareness and fire prevention.

T. Grady,

information officer,

Pitkin County

Sheriff’s Office
