Thanks for write-up on Jim and Fern Voss

Dear Editor,

We want to thank you for the great write-up and picture of Fern and Jim Voss on the front page of your newspaper of March 22-23.

They are still a couple of “love birds,” even after 70 years of marriage. You were right about Uncle Jim being still “as sharp as a whip.” He was 95 on March 17, 2002. I just hope I can be that way if I live to be that age.

Our father was the oldest and Uncle Jim is the youngest son, from a family of eight brothers and sisters. Their youngest sister died three years ago, leaving Uncle Jim as the only living sibling.

We had to postpone their celebration from Sunday to Tuesday, the actual anniversary date, due to having to put Uncle Jim in the hospital with pneumonia for a couple of days. He is doing fine now.

We also appreciated the copies of the newspapers left at our motel door. We came home with enough copies to send to all relatives and some close friends.

Thanks again for the news article and papers. We really appreciated it.
