Thanks to all the volunteers in the community

Dear Editor,

As I reflect back from summer baseball, fall soccer, and now winter skiing I was thinking how lucky we are in this community to have such a great number of volunteers. I am especially thankful to those who I have seen first hand coaching my son, and other people’s children, in various sports. It not only has taught our children good skills, but good sportsmanship, manners, teamwork, and respect for others. One particular coach who is frequently in our lives stands out in my mind, and that is Glenn Hartman. I have never seen a more friendly, giving, and kind man. I also have to pay tribute to his wife Sandy who supports him 100 percent and also helps out!

There are many excellent individuals in various aspects of this community in hospital work, churches, schools, shelters, etc. They all deserve some credit to contributing to our community. Now, with the holiday season arriving we will not see those volunteers scurrying about going un-noticed. I just want those people to know that they ARE noticed, not just by myself, but by others, too. We appreciate all you do!
