The louder the better

Dear Editor,

This letter is in regards to Mr. Smith’s Harley rally letter.

Let me start out by saying, get a life.

Harleys are the one true symbol of Americanism that is left, and what an appropriate day for this, the Fourth of July, the day of our independence, which people like you obviously want to take away.

There are now doctors, lawyers and society’s who’s-who riding Harleys; even our highly respected U.S. Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell rides one.

I’m thinking you should look at this from the side of the revenue that something like this will bring to the “Roaring” Fork Valley. Sturgis, S.D., for one, makes their yearly income in the 10 days of their rally due to overinflated prices which the Harley rider will pay.

You are complaining about noise and the class of people. Lucky for you, most Harley riders nowadays aren’t like me and the select few that are left. For me, the louder the better. I’m not just some sophisticate that owns a muffled Harley, but a true, blue-blooded American biker who would be more than happy to let you polish my bike while I kissed your girlfriend.
