The Wild Women Art Exhibit

The only way to know what really makes a woman wild is to ask a Wild Woman. Then ask the men.

The seventh annual “Wild Women” art exhibit is on display through Aug. 28 at the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts, where 14 of the valley’s most intriguing female artists have more than 100 avant-garde pieces on display.

On Friday night at the artist’s reception, more than 250 people met and mingled with the Wild Women themselves.

So what is it that makes them wild?

Wild Women make their own rules.

They are risk-takers who turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. And according to one exhibit piece, they know…

To art is human. To create, divine.

Wild Women explore. They color outside the lines.

Speak softly and carry big art.

Wild Women art embodies bold themes and vibrant colors.

I art, therefore I am.

Wild Women use art as an outward expression of their own life’s journey.

As you art, so shall you reap.

Wild Women are wooed by an experience and hounded to recreate it into a visual for others to experience.

The Joy of Art.

Wild Women have deep, authentic experiences – the satisfaction of art is creating it.

It was the best of art, it was the worst of art.

Wild Women use everything ” the good and bad. There are few “throw-away” moments.

If the art fits, wear it.

Men notice Wild Women.

It’s her heart.

It’s an inner spirit that cannot be captured.

It’s independence.

It’s conviction and vision.

Surely no one would argue with that.

And if anyone did, it’s possible that they forgot about one other important Wild Woman rule.

The artist is always right
