Theatre Aspen offers family fun carnival

On Saturday, Aspen will come alive with games, amusements, food and music as Theatre Aspen School presents its annual summer event to benefit the school’s kids programs.

“This year’s event is very special for us as we’re holding it at the tent and it begins with the children’s show ‘The Near-sighted Knight and the Far-sighted Dragon,'” said Wendy Tennis, associate director and head of education at Theatre Aspen. “We’re really looking forward to the carnival atmosphere being such a good time for all.”

There are two options available: attend the performance of “The Near-sighted Knight and the Far-sighted Dragon” at noon for $20, which covers the show and all activities and food of Cirque d’Aspen; or those who want to attend the event only from 1-4 p.m. can pay one $10 entry fee per person. It’s an all-inclusive event for adults and kids alike.

“Our activities feature a climbing wall, bungee run, the House of Bounce, interactive games, a dunk tank and a live, remote broadcast from KSPN,” Tennis said. “It promises to be an afternoon of fast-paced fun, so come ready to play!”
