Thomas E. Papke

Thomas E. Papke of Delta, a former resident of Glenwood Springs, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Delta County Memorial Hospital.He was 68.He was born May 29, 1935, in Grand Junction to Hortenz Kohler and Walter Papke.He married Mary Jo Ramsey.Mr. Papke grew up in Grand Junction.He graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1953.He worked for the former Colorado Highway Department, now the Colorado Department of Transportation, as a civil engineer.While living in Glenwood Springs, he owned the Lariat Bar & Grill on 7th Street.Mr. Papke enjoyed hunting and fishing.He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Papke, by his parents, and by one brother.Mr. Papke is survived by a son, Aaron Papke of Delta; by a stepson, Charles Hetherington; by a stepdaughter, Charlotte Dunaly of Garland, Kan.; by a brother, Don Papke of Lakewood; and by three granddaughters.No services are planned.Arrangements are being handled by Mesa View Mortuary-Cemetery of Delta.Condolences may be sent to the Papke family online at http://www.mesaview.net.
