Thunder River Theatre Company artistic director facilitates workshop

Thunder River Theatre Company artistic director Lon Winston has just returned from Okoboji, Iowa, where he facilitated a board development workshop and an intensive acting/directing workshop arranged by the Lakes Community Theatre. It was open to the Lakes Performing Arts Center staff, Spensor Community Theatre and the ArtsLive Arts Council. The workshops were held Aug. 18-20.”Okoboji is an absolutely beautiful community located on Okoboji Lake in Northwest Iowa, an active summer vacation spot with a tremendous amount of art available, both performing and visual,” He said. “There was also an arts fair similar to the Carbondale Mountain Fair, just on a smaller scale. The artwork there was simply wonderful. But most importantly, the workshops were very productive for this strong theater community.”
