Following are suggestions by Dr. Bill Hoover, of Valley Vision Clinic in Glenwood Springs, on tips to avoid computer vision syndrome:1. Use a computer with anti-glare screens2. Adjust computer’s contrast3. Change computer’s refresh rate4. Incorporate proper lighting into office setting5. Situate work station so top of computer sits at eye-level6. Invest in a larger flat screen for less glare7. Take eye breaks every 10 minutes by looking into the distance8. Blink often when staring at the screen9. Place computer in front instead of to the side of the user to avoid neck strain10. Make appointments for eye exams every 1-2 years, depending on the person
