Tornado sighted in NE Colorado

YUMA, Colorado (AP) ” Authorities say a tornado has been sighted about four miles south of Yuma in northeast Colorado, but no damage or injuries have been reported.

Chris Foltz of the National Weather Service in Goodland, Kan., says the tornado was on the ground in an open field for about two minutes at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Yuma is 120 miles east of Denver.



Tornado warnings have been issued for northwest Yuma County and for parts of Washington, Morgan and Adams counties.

Parts of western Colorado, meanwhile, are expected to get another taste of winter.



The National Weather Service said there will be snow Wednesday night above 8,500 feet with accumulations up to 5 inches.

A snow advisory is in effect for areas including Vail, Aspen, Telluride and Ouray.
