The Glenwood Springs Community Concert Association presents the final concert of its season for members with Canadian male quartet Cadence. The vocalists from Toronto perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3, in the Glenwood Springs High School auditorium. Admission is free with purchase of a membership for next season.Cadence has been entertaining audiences young and old at sold-out venues with innovative arrangements of popular and original songs. The band has won numerous awards at a cappella gatherings such as the New York Harmony Sweepstakes, where members took first place and were named audience favorite in 2003. Cadence shows combine tight harmony with vocally-rendered percussion and instrumental imitation, choreographed staging, off-the-wall antics and audience interaction.

Reviews describe Cadence as “musically satisfying” and “a whole lot of fun.” From the Beatles to Blood, Sweat and Tears, Sting to Simon and Garfunkel, and McFerrin to Mozart, Cadence enjoys exploring many styles and genres of music.Membership in the concert association entitles pass holders to attend five concerts during the 2007-08 season. Adult season tickets are $35; students, $15; and family, $80. For those able to support the series at a higher level, the choices are: Friend, $100-$199 (two tickets); Patron $200-$499 (four tickets); Donor $500-$999 (six tickets); Sponsor, $1,000 (10 tickets).Events scheduled for the 2007-08 season begin in September with “Bravo Broadway” (favorites from musicals), Dixieland band Barbary Coast in October, chamber ensemble London Concertante in February; pianist Frederic Chiu, also in February; and Western quartet Riders in the Sky in April.
