Traffic alert: Beware of boulders along Highway 82
Motorists are advised to be aware of falling rocks along State Highway 82 between Glenwood Springs and Carbondale, following reports earlier Sunday morning of a large boulder in the roadway just west of the intersection of Highway 133.
The boulder has since been cleared, but with the intermittent rain and snow at lower elevations throughout the day, additional rockfall is possible, highway officials advise.
Elsewhere in western Colorado, the Department of Transportation’s cotrip.org advised Sunday afternoon that Vail Pass on Interstate 70 was closed in both directions due to accidents and related safety concerns.

Fire investigators are still working on determining the cause of Tuesday’s house fire in Glenwood Springs, which left no one injured but caused extensive damage.
