Transfer Trail upgrades proposed

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management Glenwood Springs field office is planning improvements to Transfer Trail to enhance parking for snowmobile users and improve overall safety.

The work, planned to begin in September, is slated for the lower two miles of the road.

The work mainly includes widening the road and rebuilding the first two switchbacks.

An environmental assessment has been prepared to analyze the impacts and identify mitigation measures. Written comments on the project are due Aug. 19. Copies are available at the BLM’s West Glenwood office.

For information, call Jim Byers at the BLM, 947-2804.

Send comments to the BLM Glenwood Springs Field Office, P.O. Box 1009, Glenwood Springs, CO 81602.
