Trout Unlimited holds annual fundraiser in Glenwood Springs

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Ice Out for Trout is the annual fundraiser for the local Ferdinand Hayden chapter of Trout Unlimited. The event will be held on Saturday, March 14, at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs.

The event will feature a silent auction and raffle to be put toward the chapter’s projects and programs as well as toward overhead for the fundraiser. The program for the evening will also include a short film presentation of “Eastern Rises” ” a Felt Soul Media production presented by Travis Rummel ” and a presentation of the feature film “Drift,” a Confluence Films production presented by Tom Bie.

Trout Unlimited is the nation’s foremost cold water fisheries conservation organization, and the Ferdinand Hayden Chapter acts as the local representative. The chapter covers the central mountain region of Colorado from Vail to Aspen and Rifle to Gore Canyon.

Money raised at Saturday’s event will help with the chapter’s ninth annual Roaring Fork River cleanup and its role as a partner in the 10th annual Eagle River cleanup. The organization will also be working with the Bureau of Land Management for the sixth year on tamarisk eradication along the Colorado, Roaring Fork and Eagle rivers.
