Troy Linn Remus

Troy Remus, 53, of Silt, died May 27, 2007, suddenly of a heart attack at home.Troy was born Sept. 7, 1953, on Edwards Air Force Base in Bakersfield, Calif., to R.G. and Norma (Hickens) Remus. He grew up in Haslett, Mich., but has lived in Colorado for the past 25 years. Troy was employed as a supervisor for Gould Construction at the time of his death.Troy is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kathleen Willaert; sister Cassandra (Ray) Schwartz of Monroe, N.C.; brother Terry Remus of Haslett; and nephews Eric and Brooks Remus, both of Haslett.He was preceded in death by his parents.Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be dispersed along with the ashes of his beloved dog, Weeb, in Hopkins Creek, Mich. – his most favorite fishing spot in the world.A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the Spruce picnic area in Rifle Creek above Rifle Mountain Park (4.5 miles past the fish hatchery).There will also be a reception celebrating Troy’s life at 6 p.m. Tuesday. June 6, at the American Legion in Haslett.Farnum Holt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
