Mountain Powersports had five snowmobiles damaged Monday when a truck crashed on the dealerships lot. Mountain Powersports owner Ed Davis said a truck from neighboring M&M Construction got away from the driver and crashed, destroying three snowmobiles and damaging two more. Its sitting on top of three of them, Davis said after the accident, which occurred just before 1:15 p.m., he said. Both businesses are on Highway 82 south of Glenwood Springs near the Sopris Restaurant. The accident cost Davis about $35,000 in merchandise damage, he said. Its their truck, so Im hoping their insurance will pay for it, he said. A call to M&M Construction was not returned Monday. Davis said the accident was the second incident in six months involving a truck from M&M Construction. They had a dump truck come down through here and it went out into 82, he said. The Colorado State Patrol responded and is investigating.
