Portions of the eastbound shoulder along Interstate 70 between New Castle and Glenwood Springs will be closed this week as crews work to make commercial truck parking improvements in the area.

The Colorado Department of Transportation’s commercial motor vehicle parking improvement project is to take place between mile point (MP) 107 east of Canyon Creek and continue to the main Glenwood Springs/Highway 82 exit at MP 116.

“Motorists can expect an eastbound shoulder closure,” according to CDOT. “Work this week will consist of installing erosion control measures and signage.”

Work hours are expected to be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
