Truden to hold press conference today

Colleen Truden, district attorney for the 9th Judicial District, will announce at a press conference this morning whether she will file a formal protest against the recall petition circulated against her.Truden will announce her decision at 10:30 a.m. on the steps of the Garfield County Courthouse in Glenwood Springs. Truden will make a short statement, and then answer questions.Truden said she “has been the target of baseless allegations in the recall effort, the supporters of which have been passed over for jobs in favor of (Truden),” she said in a prepared statement Tuesday. Truden said she will provide facts to counter the charges made against her.”The old guard that’s been pushing the recall has made a number of allegations against me, none of which have merit,” she said in a statement. “These are people who have no qualms about wasting taxpayer money in a personal vendetta against me and the district attorney’s office. Unfortunately, the recall sponsors have sour grapes because I was picked for jobs they wanted, or they didn’t want to put in the hard work the people of the 9th District expect and deserve. I look forward to putting the facts before the voters,” she said. The 9th Judicial District Office of the District Attorney serves residents of Garfield, Pitkin and Rio Blanco counties.
