Two Rivers charter names new head of school

Staff report

Two Rivers Community School will welcome a new head of school beginning in the fall.

Jamie Nims will take over from founding administrator Rebecca Ruland, the TRCS school board announced earlier this month.

“While we are sad to see Rebecca step down from her position, we are excited and confident in the goals and vision that Jamie has for our beloved TRCS, while still following the lines of the TRCS mission and keeping the close family feel in our school as we grow and evolve,” the board said in a statement.

Ruland is one of the founding members of the charter school, and Nims has been a part of TRCS since it opened in 2014, according to the school website.

Nims currently serves as director of education for TRCS, a role he took over from Ruland when she became head of school.

“As Rebecca steps down and hands the reins over to Jamie, we see the same love, dedication and commitment continuing forward within him and his future goals for our school,” the board said. “We hope you can all join us in welcoming Jamie into his new role as Head of School for this coming year.”
