Two Rivers Community Foundation awards over $19,500 in grants to local nonprofits

In a boost to local nonprofit initiatives, the Two Rivers Community Foundation announced the awarding of over $19,500 in grants to eight nonprofits serving the Carbondale, Glenwood Springs and New Castle areas.
The grants, varying from $1,250 to $3,500, are part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to support community-driven projects and services, according to a Two Rivers Community Foundation news release.
The funding, derived from the Two Rivers Unrestricted Endowment Fund (T.R.U.E.) and the Two Rivers Community Foundation, marks a continued effort to empower local organizations. The beneficiaries for the 2023 grant cycle include:
- Dance Initiative
- Focused Kids
- Garfield County Search and Rescue, Inc.
- High Country Volunteers
- Literacy Outreach
- Roaring Fork Valley Recovery Support Center (The Meeting Place)
- Roaring Fork Valley Early Learning Fund (Raising a Reader Aspen to Parachute)
- Symphony in the Valley
The T.R.U.E Grants Fund, established in 2018 by local community leaders and the Two Rivers Community Foundation, has seen steady growth due to the generosity of community donors. The fund operates in partnership with the Western Colorado Community Foundation, focusing on building the endowment and annually distributing its earnings to impactful projects within the community.
The T.R.U.E. Steering Committee is reaching out to community members, asking for contributions to this local fund. Contributions of any size are welcomed and are tax deductible, supporting a range of projects that benefit the Two Rivers area. Interested donors can find more information at wc-cf.org/two-rivers.
